Location Description
The public art project is on the grounds of the Des Moines Area Regional Transit (DART) at 620 Cherry Street. It is located south of Cherry Street between 6th Avenue and 7th Street, Des Moines.
Transportion Signature
Transportation Signature was created by artist David Dahlquist and RDG IA Inc. (dba RDG Dahlquist Art Studio) for theDes Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) in downtown Des Moines. This screen-wall is located just south of DART’s multi-modal hub, based on the words “Des Moines” written in script.
The commission was approved in 2012. The project, 9-feet height and 180-feet long, is a mixed media installation, constructed of stainless steel, performance coating and fluorescent lights.
