“Tornado” is a new temporary public art project presented through the collaboration of the Public Art Fund, NYC and NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs. It rises 30 feet to meet the treetops of New York’s Central Park.  The artist’s looming black “clouds” made from inflated truck tire inner tubes sift in the breeze. Like a tornado, which is violently powerful but literally made of air, this public art project provides a visceral experience. Much of the artists work engages with natural forces and the way we perceive them through form and physical space. “Tornado” will be on public view through February 19, 2012.
