Jun Kaneko (American, born Japan 1942) recently completed a two-part, major public art project along the Principal Riverwalk in downtown Des Moines, located at Court Avenue and Water Street. Five untitled Dangos, hand built glazed ceramic sculptures are integrated into the plaza at the HubSpot. The monumental blown, fused and tempered glass mural, titled “Expansion,” was commissioned for the Court Avenue Pump Station and to unite the two spaces and enhance the intersection.
