London, England: Momentum is a multi-sensory installation that immerses the observer in light and sound, turning the corridor into a musical instrument, to which pendulums dance above. As they move, the space is transformed with patterns of light that vary from simple stripes to platonic geometric and floral forms. They play of illuminated areas and shadow creates an ever-evolving atmosphere through which, visitors are invited to linger, taking their time, moving at their own desired pace to the beat of the music.

Visitors enjoy the 'United Visual Artists: Momentum' installation at The Curve at the Barbican Centre on February 12, 2014 in London, England. The installation consists of 12 pendulums suspended overhead along the 90m length of the Curve. Each pendulum projects a horizontal plane of light, plus a vertical spotlight on a darkened environment filled with water-based smoke. Photo: Bethany Clarke
